The Art of Feeling Alive

A weekend to move, breathe, connect & slow down
April 9th-11th 2027 I Zeeland, The Netherlands

We spend so much of our lives rushing, working, achieving and being “on”. The Art of Feeling Alive is an invitation to step out of that rhythm for a weekend and reconnect with something much simpler: what it feels like to be fully present and alive.

Because movement is more than exercise. It is a way of experiencing life more fully.

Over the course of this weekend, we’ll move our bodies, spend time in nature, eat nourishing food, breathe, laugh, connect and make space for doing absolutely nothing.

No packed schedule. No pressure to perform. No need to be your most productive self.

Just a beautiful place by the sea, a small group of like-minded people and a weekend designed to make you feel strong, grounded, inspired and alive.

The experience.

The weekend combines the things I believe make us feel good—both in our bodies and in our lives.

Dynamic Yoga

Strong, energising practices that challenge you, get you out of your head and into your body. Expect Rocket and Vinyasa classes that combine mobility, strength, and playful exploration.

Nature & the Sea

Land aan Zee is surrounded by nature and close to the Zeeland coast. There will be time to walk, explore, breathe some fresh sea air — or simply sit and watch the waves.

Nourishing Food

Fresh, plant-based meals served around the table. Because good food is an essential part of feeling good.

Connection

A small group of just 8 guests creates space to actually get to know each other. For shared meals, conversations, laughter and the kind of connection that happens when everyone puts their phones away and is simply present.

And plenty of space

You don’t need to participate in every moment.

Read a book. Take a nap. Go for a walk. Sit in the garden. Use the sauna. Do absolutely nothing.

The empty spaces are part of the retreat, too.

The venue.

Land aan Zee · Zeeland

A beautiful retreat centre surrounded by nature and close to the Zeeland coast.

Land aan Zee is all about slowing down, reconnecting with yourself, other people and nature—which is exactly the kind of environment I was looking for when creating The Art of Feeling Alive.

Think simple, beautiful surroundings, nourishing food, plenty of space and the sea close by.

About your host.

I’m Maike, a Yoga & Pilates teacher based in Düsseldorf and the founder of Maike’s Yoga Journey.

I teach Vinyasa, Rocket and Pilates, and I’m passionate about creating practices that are challenging, intelligent and, above all, enjoyable.

But for me, movement has never been about achieving the perfect pose.

It’s about how movement makes us feel.

Stronger. More present. More connected to ourselves.

And ultimately, more alive.

That’s the idea behind The Art of Feeling Alive.
